Disabled Guests

Our Story

We are the Stephenson family, we would like to tell you a bit about ourselves and how we came to own our lovely vacation home.

We have four children, two of whom are special needs and wheelchair users. We always found ourselves shying away from holidays abroad as it seemed unreachable and too much to cope with. Yet, when our son was diagnosed with a muscle wasting condition we decided to go for a "holiday of a lifetime". We were amazed and thrilled at how different things were for us, particularly the boys, in Florida. We found people much more accepting of the boys and we were thrilled that legislation in Florida means that every public building has proper disabled access. We combined our trip to Florida with a Wild Dolphin Swim and were amazed at the change in our children, and us for that matter. The Floridian climate was fantastic for the boys, no asthma, no arthritis, and swimming and hot tubbing it every day, it really was the perfect place.

Since then, we have returned each year. Last year our son was so poorly, we decided to get out there again, he was so well out there (his annual health boost) we decided to buy a home so that we had somewhere to take him to.

Our dream is to see as many children, in particular special needs children, to experience the wonders of Orlando, whether you combine it with a dolphin swim or not. We want families to realise that instead of the hard work you think this type of holiday is going to be, it is both enjoyable and exciting. We can't express to "special "families that it is not only possible but a breath of fresh air.
